Turkish Coffee

image

No stay in Turkey is perfect without a Turkish coffee!

image

It is very thick and strong and you have to sip it slowly if you don’t want to swallow the grounds.

I don’t really like it but I would have one just for the fun of having my fortune told on the dregs!

When you are done drinking, you have to turn the cup and leave it upside down for a couple of minutes. This way the dregs will dry and form various shapes that will tell you about your future!

Did you ever try Turkish coffee? Did you get your dregs “read” and do you believe in this kind of things?

Sharing is caring! :)

I love Turkish coffee! It – and Arab coffee – are my only excuses to have sugar in my coffee. :) I haven’t had my fortune told from the dregs, though. Perhaps they do that only in Turkey?

I am not sure honestly… I heard about the fortune told from the dregs of Turkish coffee even in Italy, from a Greek friend. So I assume they do it in Greece too! But not sure about Egypt etc. Will have to find out!

I had somebody reading my fortune like that some time ago… she said: “you drink too much coffee!” :-P
